Bless the fires that form us:
the hot furnaces that challenge us and make us anew;
the warm hearths that hold us in love;
the chalice flame that reminds us who we are.
Bless the waters that shape us:
the cold, shocking rain that reminds us who we must be;
the cleansing baths that free us;
the holy water of our communion.
Bless the earth that grounds us:
the hard, uncertain rocks;
the life-giving soil of holy ground;
the solid planet that roots us close.
Bless the air that carries us:
the cold winds of change;
the fresh atmosphere of the mountaintop;
the living breath which lifts our wings.
Blessed be the journey.
